Plum

Plum is a high-yielding stone fruit plant, the origin of which is the result of natural hybridization of alycha and blackthorn. Plum contains such useful substances as carotene, organic acids, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, compounds of potassium, iron, iodine, copper and zinc. More than 7 varieties of plums are grown in Azerbaijan, which are widely demanded not only in the local, but also in the world markets. The plum season in the country begins in early July and lasts until the end of September (week 27 – week 38). Shipment periods may vary depending on the variety. The most popular varieties are black plum “Black Amber”, “Angelika”, yellow plum – “Golden Globe”, “Moon Globe”, seasonal plum “Vengerka” and hybrid plum. The average caliber of plums is from 40 mm +, and the caliber of some varieties can reach up to 60 mm +. The volume of offers of different varieties of plums varies from 3 to 5 cars per week.
